When the barrier was lifted Lisa stumbled back with a gasp, for she had still been relying on it for support to stay standing! She breathed in raggedly as she regained her footing and glanced around then back to River. Then she realized he'd said he'd walk her home. Uh... I... maybe I should just call a cab or something. she said hesitantly.

River tilted his head. "Why? I can walk you home...It's really no big deal at all and if that asshole ex of yours comes around I'll just punch him in the face." He shrugged and gave her a little disarming smile. "I don't mean to scare you, honestly, it's just....I like to protect people and help people..." He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "Really though, I don't want you to be alone in case any of those guys come after you for being here."

Lisa looked at him confused... Why would they come after you me? You dusted them! she said and her voice cracked at the mention of what happened. SHe bit her lip and lowered her gaze. This man was dangerous. Could she really trust him to walk her all the way home in the middle of the night? She shifted her weight form one foot to the other... a bit nervous at the thought.

River looked over his shoulder where he had 'dusted' the daimons. "Yea.." He said, turning back to her and sighing in slight frustration. He indicated over his shoulder. "But do you think they didn't have friends?" He licked his lips and tried to think of the best way to explain this to her. "Those guys work for forces that you would have read about only in dark myths. I work for the forces meant to stop them."
He pushed his hair back away from his face. "They will come after you if they find out tonight. If you make it tonight without anyone coming after you then you're probably safe. They don't hunt usually. So see me walking you home is a prevention of the guys friends coming after you." He sighed again. Talking this woman is beginning to feel like talking to Artemis...

Lisa chewed her lip and hugged her arms around herself, pulling her purse more securely up on her shoulder. She took a deep breath and glanced around then back to him. You're making this sound like it's some kind of horror film. River what's going on? Who are you really? How did you turn those guys to dust? And what the hell did Zarek do to make me see those things? she asked. She needed to know. She stared right at him, waiting for him to explain all of this.

River couldn't believe this. What woman would just stand there when he'd said there could be people coming to kill her? None! He groaned and closed his eyes for a minute, breathing deeply. Opening his eyes, he looked down at her in disbelief. "I told you what they were. I told you who I was and what I did." He threw one hand behind him. "I 'dusted' them because that's how that particular brand of creature dies. You never heard of a vampire disintegrating when you stab it in the heart?" He shook his head. "Do you want to stand here till their friends show up or do you wanna walk and talk?" He asked, indicating the road as the obvious action.

Lisa sighed deeply and turned to head towards her house. She chewed her lip for a few yards then took a deep breath, her arms still wrapped around herself and her heels clicking on the sidewalk. But Vampires aren't actuallyreal. They are just made up creatures to scare people, right? And you didn't really tell me who they were or who you are. You just gave vaugue disscriptions. I want to know River. Whatthe hell was all that back there?

River seriously considered leaving. This woman didn't get that the more she knew the more danger she was in. "They were vampire, which I said. I am River and I fight vampires, which I said." He rolled his eyes and briefly prayed to Athena for strength. "I mean seriously Lisa..." He brushed some daimon dust off his hands. "If vampires aren't real I want you to explain to me what happened back there." He really wasn't trying to be mean but he'd heard the whole 'vampires aren't real' thing soooo many times...

You're the one that asked me to lure those guys outside." she said then looked forward again and hugged her arms tighter around her belly and held onto the straps of her purse with her left hand, holding more securely on her right shoulder. She nervously glanced down every dark alley they passed.

River huffed. "Ok I'll make an effort not to get pissy but I tend to do that when I ask questions and people ignore them. Or when I explain something several times and then get asked the same question again." He took a deep breath, calming himself down. "Now please answer the question. If vampires aren't real then explain what you saw."

Lisa glanced down another alley as they passed by it, speeding up her steps just a bit. I don't know. Maybe I'm in some freakishly real nightmare or something. Or i'm in a hidden camera movie and at anysecond people with camera's will jump out and yell "gotcha!". I don't know.. She chewed her lip again and glanced his way then back to the street ahead.

River rolled his eyes and forced himself to stay calm. This was so very frustrating. "There are no cameras. There isn't a show." He blew the remainder of the dust into the air in front of her. "That really happened. And I can't explain it to you." He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. "If I explain more than I have, you'll be in a very large amount of trouble."

Lisa sighed raggedly and nodded. Ok ok. I'll.. i'll stop asking questions then. she said forcing herself to stay calm as they turned a corner, entering her neighborhood. Suddenly, as she glanced around, things didn't seem quiet the same here. She noticed all the dark places people could hide to ambush her. The slightest movement made her want to jump or scream out or run.

River rose and eyebrow. "What is it?" He asked, looking around like she was. He didn't see anything out of place, but he could understand her fear. She'd been through a rough night. "I don't see anything wrong..." He reached into his pocket and produced a pen, taking out a scrap piece of paper and jotting his cell number on it. "I'm going to give you this just in case something happens and you need me." He handed her the paper.

Lisa glanced at him as she slowly took the paper from him and looked at the number then slipped it into her purse. I'm sorry I'm so jumpy. I just... There's so many dark holes I never noticed before now. she said softly as if there was someone nearby that didn't need to hear.
