Dragon Tapestry Woven by Antiphone Kattalakis in seventh-century Britain, the tapestry tells the story of Lycaon and his brother. In essence, it embodies the origin of the Arcadian Draki and the eternal struggle between good and evil. The tapestry currently resides in the Richmond Museum in Virginia.
Exoristos Term for an exiled Were. No member of the exiled Were's former patria is allowed to even speak his name.
Fazer A dangerous Sentinel weapon developed specifically for the Katagaria. The fazer sends a jolt of electricity through its victim, making their magic go berserk and rendering them unable to hold on to either animal or human form. If the jolt is strong enough, there is a possibility that the victim might "fall out" of his body altogether.
Filos The Katagaria term for a male pack member (affectionate). Can also mean "pack" or "brotherhood".
Laminas/Limani The Atlantean term for "haven". This refers to portals between worlds (bolt-holes). The word is also used to describe any Were-Hunter sanctuary or safe house.
Metriazo Collar This thin silver collar sends tiny ionic pulses into the body of a Were-Hunter, thus preventing its victim from using his magic powers. It will effectively stop a shapeshifter from changing shape, and can only be removed by magic.
Nearas The term used to describe virgin Were females who are cresting.
Omega Wolf Slang term for the scapegoat of the pack whom everyone picks on.
Patria Name for the family grouping of Were-Hunters of the same race and animal genus. The existing Were patria are: Balios (jaguars), Niphetos Pardalia (snow leopards), Drakos (dragons), Panthiras (panthers), Gerakian (hawks, falcons, bald eagles), Pardalia (leopards), Helikias (cheetahs), Tigarian (tigers), Litarian (lions), Tsakalis (jackals), Lykos (wolves), and Ursulan (bears).
Regis The leader of a Were-Hunter pack who in essence acts as their king (or queen) and representative at the Omegrion.
Rytis The invisible stream of waves that move through everything in the natural world. These waves echo, flow, and occasionally buckle. Were- and Dream-Hunters use the Rytis to move through time and space. Many have equaled the Rytis to Ley Lines, though the Rytis is much less geographically stable and virtually impossible to map.
Scooby Derogatory Lykos Katagaria term for a brainless, cowardly pup.
Strati The term used for Katagaria soldiers who seek out Arcadians to fight. Some Arcadians refer to all Strati as Slayers. The Strati are the Katagaria equivalent of Sentinels, only without the facial markings.
Much like their predatory ancestors, Strati will not engage an enemy unprovoked. They will only kill to defend themselves, their pack, or their territory.
-swain Suffix for a male Were-Hunter. (Example: dragon swain, pantherswain, bearswain, and so on.)
-swan Suffix for a female Were-Hunter. (Example: dragon swan, pantherswan, bearswan, and so on.)
Tessera From the Greek word for "four", this is the term used for a group of four Were-Hunters sent out to hunt others of this kind. Of course, just to be contrary, a Tessera can also have eight members.
Thirio The instinctual need inside Weres to bond and com¬bine life forces during the consummation of a mating. During this basic, powerful animal thrall that overtakes a Were, the canine teeth grow to facilitate the bonding.

Trelosa A rabieslike madness that comes upon Were-Hunters when they hit puberty. Zack Tigarian accused Wren of killing his parents while under the influence of the trelosa.
